Niels, wouldn't also work/be possible to (analogously to sql & pathfinder) have PACKAGE=clients (and hence get clients-VERSION.tar.gz), and replace all 'DIR = pkgXdir' by 'DIR = Xdir/MonetDB' in clients' Makefile.ag and clients/conf/monetdb-clients-config{,.bat}.in ? Hi Stefan, after compiling all our nice packages from scratch, Pathfinder's `make check' is not working here. [Monetdb-developers] slow insertion, why?

Dear Sir/Madam: After creating a table in MonetDB, I insert data by running "insert into table ..." on the client via JDBC(monetdb-1.5-jdbc.jar) , but the insertion speed is too slow(100rows per 5 sec.). I guess the reason is probably that MonetDB treats every insert clause as a transation thus performs 'commits' afterwards for every single insert operation. Is that so? [Monetdb-developers] Compilation in Windows...

Dear developers, I had some problems with my old sources in windows so I decided to update all my sources in windows (x86). I installed already buildtools and MonetDB. Now I am installing clients (after it will be M5 and then SQL), but there is a problem. Clients does not contain a NT directory. This means that I have to use cygwin? Can I use just cygwin for clients and native tools for the others? Without resolving this problem I can not create the installer for Martin. Other solution is a place to get clean sources (buildtools, m4 ,m5 ,and sql) just before the MonetDB split. ;) Regards, Romulo

[Monetdb-developers] Q: PF - unload/reload modules?

Dear all, is it possible to tell MXQ to unload or reload a module? I have trouble with a running server that keeps a declare variable $my:OPTIONS = 42; at value 42, even after modifying the file that defines it. Don't know if this could also be done automatically, can imagine that would be hard, but a directive to unload a module would be great. Thanks for any help, Arjen
