[Monetdb-developers] Conditional in Makefiles

Hi Niels, hi Sjoerd, Based on a condition in configure I want to compile different files. I know that it is possible to include a directory based on a condition, but couldn't find a solution for files. Is there any? -- If that's not possible is there some magic for the Makefile.ag files to write a snippet of code that survives autoconf and automake without changes? Hi Peter, I hope the functions PFaprint and PFpcore are for your personal debugging only. If that's the case please remove them. (Otherwise I do not understand why you introduced these functions.) [Monetdb-developers] bootstrapping problems on HEAD

Hi All, Here in Twente on our SuSe systems we are currently experiencing 2 problems with the HEAD of pathfinder. 1) Installing buildtools fails because mel is not handled automatically anymore. We have to go to mel and bootstrap-configure by hand. Then we can handle the rest of the buildtools. Did we miss something? 2) We are experiencing problems with the version of autoconf on SuSe10.0. Bootstrap wants to run at least 2.57 but we are running 2.59 so this should be OK: LOG: monetdb/MonetDB> autoconf --version autoconf (GNU Autoconf) 2.59 Written by David J. [Monetdb-developers] option daemon in mserver5?

I run: mserver5 --daemon=yes I close it and I run mserver --daemon=no I do not see any differences, with the first command it should run in background, right? Regards, Romulo

[Monetdb-developers] Monet 5 goes to SourceForge

This Friday, January 12 2007, the MonetDB 5 repository at CWI will be closed for further business, it will be packaged up, and shipped to SourceForge. After it has been installed there, the repository will open up again at the new location. How long the gap between closing and reopening will be is unknown, but I don't expect it to be more than a few (working) days. -- Sjoerd Mullender

Sjoerd, with the */NT/configure.py gone, shouldn't also the */NT/configure.py.bat be removed from CVS? Their only purpose was IMHO to allow to call `python .../configure.py` by simply calling `.../configure.py[.bat]`.
