The problem is, AWS Linux is not CentOS or Scientific Linux or plain RHEL. The most important difference for this use case is that the system version number is different. AWS is version 2, whereas RHEL and its derivatives are either 6 or 7. You can probably fix your problem by editing the file /etc/yum.repos.d/monetdb.repo and changing $releasever to either 6 or 7, depending on which version of RHEL AWS Linux is based on (I think 7, but I'm not sure).

It seems to me there's a reference to epel/2 which is out of date. Should that be epel/7? Is it possible to get an updated rpm?
