I'm not sure if this will solve your problem, but you can give scripts as arguments on your mserver5 invocation, which means they are directly executed after startup.
Does that mean, that I have to place the functions when my app starts and opens the connection? Is there a desired way at all like the above?
If above doesn't help, you could try to hack the default startup script, but that that's unsupported, and I don't know off the top of my head where it is.
