From Feb. 2005 to Sep. 2010, Ying carried out her Ph.D. research in the Database Architectures group of the Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica (CWI) in Amsterdam. On Jul. 8th, 2010, she defended her Ph.D. thesis titled “XRPC - Efficient Distributed Query Processing on Heterogeneous XQuery Engines”. From Oct. 2010, Ying works as a postdoctoral researcher in the same group of the CWI. In the SciLens projec, she is a co-designer of SciQL, an SQL based array query language for scientific data.
