I am not saying anything of the kind.  Please use tabs (but not in
Python source!).  You are totally allowed to look at them as if they are
4 spaces wide.  Just make sure that it *also looks correct* when they
are viewed as 8 spaces wide.

And don't put vim:... stuff at the top of files (I know, the one I
removed wan't put there by you).

If I were to use vi, that's what I would use.
