We have test monetdb for a while, I think it's a very good product especially for DW.
most of the queries will be quite fast than sql 2008.

but in these cases,you should be careful.

1 when you use functions on columns,  the performance will be bad.
   (seems all column databases are like this, I asked some friends who have used sybase iq.  they told me you'd better add new columns in ETL)
    
2 if your query need access many columns at a time

3 if your query need access many tables at a time, join performance it not very good.

you'd better use 64 bit OS, and use big RAM.

I have a question, i need comparison the execution query times between
MonetDB and SQL 2008 in Data Warehouse (applying a different orientations
database systems). But i have a problem, i used the AdventureWorkR2 2008 but
i don't know how i can migrate the information to MonetDB.
