how long have you use MonetDB, we want to use it in productvity environment, how do you think?

transform the gbk text file into utf-8, i will work! use ultraedit or other text editor, save as, and "utf no bom"

we followed your tips, it works now, thank you very much!

another question. we want to use copy into table to load txt file into monetdb.

if the txt file contains chinese character, we can't load it in.

we try to use squirrel to copy a table out to a txt file, if contains chinese character, the txt is utf8. we can copy this txt file into monetdb.

but if we use a notepad to build a new txt file, and save as to utf8 . load will be fail.

What's the problem? how can we build a utf8 txt file that has chinese characters can load it into monetdb?

i modify the M5server.bat like this:

"%MONETDB%\bin\mserver5.exe" --dbname=demo --set mapi_open=true --set "prefix=%MONETDB%" --set "exec_prefix=%MONETDB%" %MONETDBFARM% %*

Hi all:
   we want to copy a text file into a remote server, we don't know how to set the mapi_open = yes on windows. we try add --set "mapi_open= yes" in the M5server.bat . but we don't know whether it take effect. how can we know?

   when we use jdbc or odbc to access a remote monetdb database. we try to use

jdbc:monetdb://dvs001:5000/demo. or change the odbc host to an ip address: 192.168.1.100. we can't connect to the database. only we use localhost can we connect to the database.

   does monetdb support remote access in windows?
