Hi,

I had a look at the code.

The call lockf(fd, mode, len) == 0) in MT_lockf at common/utils/mutils.c fails and perror gives me "No locks available".
My dbfarm directory is located on NFS and this seems to be the root of the problem (see. fcntl(2), lockf(3), flock(2)).
Maybe you want to patch the system with a more detailed error message for this case.
