I had asked the same question a while ago on the list, but got no answer.

I then asked Martin during a private exchange and he told me he had fixed it. There was indeed a commit about this, but only on default: http://dev.monetdb.org/hg/MonetDB?cmd=changeset;node=7e3d47e35e64

Well, to be more precise, the parser still accepts the option, but there is no effect / result.

A TRACE-prefixed query runs just as a normal query, producing the actual query result, but no trace (anymore).

PLAN & EXPLAIN still appear to work fine as before and as expected.

I did not test DEBUG or PREPARE.
