This commit looks pretty dangerous. Can you elaborate/explain?

With CVS it is possible to add or change a log message after the fact:

cvs admin -mrev:msg file

So this would work:

cvs admin -m1.55:"Changed ..." MapiClient.mx

Don't forget proper quoting for the shell...
