Hi,
sorry to bother, but in building Dec2011 branch, I get the libmonetdb5.so.8 not found error, and in building the default branch, I get a crash. Both errors are attached.

You probably lack an RPATH entry for /usr/local/lib. Try building for a different prefix, like $HOME/monetdb
