The above prebuilt software packages include the MonetDB server software and command-line client software (mclient, msqldump) for ease of use.
If you prefer to use a graphical user interface (GUI), or intend to connect via applications written in Python, Java, PHP, Perl or Ruby, then the proper driver or connector should be downloaded from the Extensions section of the MonetDB Download area.
On Windows, there are separate installers for the ODBC driver available in MonetDB Download Area for Windows.
If you cannot find the right prebuilt package, you can also compile MonetDB from source.
